DWTS Reveals Which Celebrities Turned Them Down…And Who Desperately Wants To Be On The Show
-

We love hearing gossip about who turns down roles in Hollywood (Fun fact: Leonardo DiCaprio turned down Spiderman and Anakin Skywalker! Because he can!) and, on the flip side, who begs to get cast in other projects. Even though Dancing With The Stars is certainly no blockbuster movie and the celebs on it aren’t usually super famous, it’s still fascinating to see who the show reaches out to to participate.
DWTS is insanely popular, but let’s face it, to be on it, you must be humble enough to concede that you are not, in fact, an A-lister. And therefore, to be considered for the show might just feel insulting, like your star is either slowly on the rise or, worse, on the decline. Which is probably why Tim Allen and Suzanne Somers have passed when asked. But the show also has the ability to turn a public figure into a clown and mock them. That’s probably our guess as to why conservative crazy lady Ann Coulter, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Erin Brockovich, and Richard Branson have all said no. Most recently, Kirstie Alley rejected the show, as did Joel McHale and Drew Carey. Maybe asking Joel was their way of gaining favor on The Soup to not be mocked so much?
And as for the stars begging to dance? Well, we already know Octomom’s dancing pleas fell on deaf ears, but allegedly, Melanie Griffith has asked producers for the chance to appear on the show every season, and every season they politely decline. Come on, DWTS. Give Working Girl a chance! She has a head for business and a bod for sin, surely that counts for something. Just think of all the credibility a Banderas in the audience will lend you!
