DJ AM’s Estate Settles Plane Crash Lawsuit

The estate of the late DJ AM (born Adam Goldstein) has settled a million lawsuit filed over the deadly 2008 plane crash that left the celebrity DJ with serious injuries. According to TMZ, the lawsuit was settled for an undisclosed amount and all terms of the deal are confidential.

AM, who died of an accidental drug overdose in August, had filed suit over the crash, which also injured friend Travis Barker of Blink-182 and killed four others, including the pilot and co-pilot. AM’s mother amended the lawsuit in November, adding a wrongful death claim that presumably argued that the injuries the DJ sustained in the crash of the private Learjet had left the former drug addict in so much pain that he had sought relief through various drugs.

Barker settled a similar lawsuit over the plane crash in December. The multiple defendants in the case, which included Clay Lacy Aviation, Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Global Exec Aviation, Bombardier Inc. and others, reached an undisclosed agreement with Barker during a mediation session in November, and the confidential settlement papers were filed on December 3. The same mediation session also brought to settlement a lawsuit filed by the mother of Barker’s bodyguard, Charles “Che” Still, who died in the crash.
